Prince William County Restaurants

Do you live in the Prince William County Virginia area? Are you thinking about moving to the Prince William County area? Do you like to eat? Of course you do. Everyone likes to eat. No matter what your favorite cuisine, Prince William County probably has a restaurant to suit it.

With three universities, you know they have to have all the fast food you love. Anything from McDonald’s to Taco Bell, to Dominoes Pizza. And with over 380,000 residents, the county has to have plenty of nicer sit-down restaurants as well. Are you looking for a Mexican restaurant, an Italian Restaurant, or just a good country restaurant that serves home cooked food like Mamma makes?

Getting there should be easy since eight major highways run through Prince William County. There’s Interstate 66, Interstate 95, U. S. 1, U. S. Route 15, U. S. Route 29, State Route 28, State Route 234, and Prince William Parkway. If you do not drive, or do not have a vehicle, no problem. Prince William County offers a public bus service, as well as OmniRide, OmniLink, and OmniMatch, all services provided by PRTC. PRTC is short for Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission, the public transportation system in Prince William County VA.

And if your favorite restaurant happens to be in Washington D.C. you are in luck. Virginia Railway Express is a commuter rail service that connects the Northern Virginia area with D. C. You also could take the PRTC bus or just drive like most do.

When the weather is nice, as it is here so much of the year, many of us like dining outside at one of the many sidewalk cafes. Another way to enjoy the outdoor experience is to get your food to go and head to the nearest park. There is a lot more "food to go" than just fast food, although, sometimes a bucket of chicken is just perfect for a day at the park.

If you are a sports fan, you can catch the Potomac Nationals in minor league baseball action, or if soccer is your game, you can watch the Northern Virginia Royals, an American minor league soccer team. Both are located in Woodbridge and have affiliations with major league teams. And who doesn’t love a good ballfield hot dog. Just goes to show that there are more eating out options than just Prince William County VA restaurants.

Of course, sports isn’t the only form of entertainment in northern Virginia. Visit the National Museum of the Marine Corps located in Trangle. The museum is free to the public, but stop by a local restaurant for lunch. The restaurant will not be free to the public, but there is no such thing as a free lunch, after all.

Or go see the largest protected natural area in the Washington D. C. metropolitan region. That is Prince William Forest Park at over 15,000 acres. Established in 1936 as Chopawamsic Recreational Demonstration Area, Prince William Forest Park is located in eastern Prince William County, Virginia. And of course get a bite to eat at whichever restaurant makes your mouth water in the area.

If you love history, check out Manassas National Battlefield Park. Preserving the site of two major American civil war battles, the park is located north of Manassas in Prince William County, Virginia. The two battles preserved here are known as the first and second battles of Bull Run outside the South. All that sight seeing is going to make you hungry so be sure to plan ahead by picking a good place to dine in the area.

One word of "warning." If you are looking for fine dining, you won't find a lot of that in Prince William County. Restaurants here tend to be down-home, comfortable and affordable. We have a few 4 or 5 star restaurants. But, for the most part, if that's what you are looking for, you'll probably want to head up into Fairfax County or even Washington D.C.
